Overview
Dudh Wala was built for a real person doing real work: village milk vendors who were tracking daily collection, customer accounts, and payments by hand in notebooks.
The Challenge
The end users are not tech-savvy and often use low-end phones with patchy connectivity. The app needed to be simpler than the notebook it was replacing, not more complicated.
Approach
- Spent time understanding the actual daily workflow of a milk vendor before writing a line of code.
- Designed an interface with large, simple inputs suited to quick daily use, not a dashboard full of options.
- Used local storage so the app works fully offline in areas with unreliable connectivity.
The Solution
A simple, powerful ledger app that lets village milk vendors track daily collection, customer accounts, and payments from their phone — with zero internet dependency.
Outcome
A meaningful example of using development skills for genuinely useful, real-world impact beyond typical student or client projects.
